2026
HAPPY NEW YEAR – 2026!
Following Storm Goretti, the decimation of trees has been the worst we have personally seen during the 17 years we have been down here. Whole swathes were down all around the club with places like Trebah, Budock Vean Golf Course, Trewince Lane and Penwarne Lane being really badly hit. The effort of locals and teams from National Grid and BT have done amazing work but there is still so much more to do in clearing up and repairing the damage. The Village Hall once again came into its own allowing people without power for several days to charge phones and heat food. And the village WhatsApp chat was really useful. Thanks so much to all concerned.
There was no damage to any of the boats in PNYC, including the larger boats on the beach. Luckily our only incident was one section of the roof over the picnic benches being blown off. The new extension is all good so thanks Johnny Vyvyan!

However we very sadly leant of the death of James Southey who was killed by a tree falling onto his caravan during the storm. Over the years James did a number of the local gardens and was a charming, kind, quiet gentleman. Our condolences and best wishes go to his family and friends.
