Phew! Winter gales and rain!

Having been basking in temperatures around the mid twenties in Rome, it was a bit of a shock coming back to Port Navas last week. Mind you, looking at the local reservoirs, we need the water. It is nice to get back into the swing of things. Having put my boat away last Monday in glorious sunshine, I do feel for those poor blighters whom I see pulling them out in this weather! No fun.

With the changes in the weather my thoughts turn to more warming and sustaining dishes on the menu at the club. As ever, I intend to change things slowly, so look out for such thiings as crab linguine with garlic, chilli and parsley. This simple classic that warms you gently, is already on the menu. Over the next couple of weeks I will be testing a steak and ale pudding, and will also redo the Thai dish of Gai Pad, chicken noodles in a rich and spicy tomato based sauce. Yum, yum!

This weekend, we have tables on Thursday and Friday, but are pretty much full on Saturday. Please, however call to check as we do sometimes have tables re-arranged at short notice.

There are still a few spaces left for the PNYC Wine Tasting evening on Wednesday 21st November at 7pm. Call 01326 340065 to book.

Christmas – we plan to open as normal (ie Thursday Friday Saturday evenings ) over the Christmas fortnight with one important exception – we will closed on Saturday 22nd but open on the following evening – Sunday 23rd. We suggest you book early for all sessions over the Christmas New Year holiday. We will be closed New Years Eve unless someone can convince us otherwise.  We are not promoting pre-Christmas party nights but are open to any private party ideas if you (and us!) think the Club is the right place to hold it.

Hope to see you all soon
