PNYC RACING

Two gaff cutters owned by PNYC members have been successful in two Classic sailing events during the summer. “Mary Ritchie” owned by Don and Pauline Garman was first in class at Falmouth Classics in June, including the Saturday Teamac race,  whilst Susan J, a Heard 28 owned by David and Julie Patuck, was placed  third. The wind was blowing force 5- 6 for both race days and race two was abandoned owing to a 40 knot squall. Fowey Classics followed in early August and this time Susan J was first with Mary Ritchie second. Both vessels, having raced in two of three classics sailing events in the south west, are eligible for places in the West Country Classic Series. Places will be revealed at Saltash Sailing Club in November.
