The times they are a changin’…………

We have now reverted to off-season opening hours – open from 6pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

After 8 months of hard work, we are now priviledged to become unofficial tax collectors! We have reached the VAT tax threshold, so, unfortunately, from the beginning of November we will have to start charging VAT. With liquor purchases including VAT, we can reclaim a good proportion of this charge, but, food, being zero rated, does not generate any input tax to offset the tax we will have to pay. We will try to minimise the effect of this, but, inevitably, food costs will have to rise a little to cope. We will revise drink prices by 10% from January 2019.

Mike is also tweaking the menu a bit for the autumnal months. Serrano ham croquetas feature again from today, a vegan dish by Marcus Wareing, using freekeh, an ancient grain, and aubergines cooked slowly in a spiced sauce will help to warm you up!

There are a couple of diary dates to note:
Sunday 14th October – Sunday brunch to celebrate the new oyster season 10am till about 2pm.
Thursday 1st November – we will not be open this evening as we are involved in a Cornish tourism awards ceremony at Truro Cathedral.

Hope to see you soon.
